We have heard similar stories from our friends and colleagues with the general market picking up in the latter half of last year. The dominant aircraft in the used regional market has been the ATR products but we are now seeing signs of the supply of quality aircraft drying up. ATR 42-500’s in particular are difficult to find so they are holding their price well. Good example ATR 72-200’s were finding it hard to compete with the pricing of older vintage ATR 72-500’s being released from ceased European and Indian airline fleets but we see this market beginning to stabilise in the near future. Similarly, the Q400 market has been tricky with a significant number of used aircraft on the market, however in recent weeks there have been several placements so this market is beginning to fire up! On the jet side, we have had great success in placing 40-50 seat ERJ products (seven this year), whilst the EJets are proving more of a challenge due to the existing solid customer base restraining the used market!
